What's new in AccelOps v1.6x?
- Cross-correlation of VM/Cloud service delivery layers. Continuing on the momentum of our previous release, AccelOps v1.6 extends monitoring of VMware by cross-correlating ESX and hardware layers, VM status and movement with guest host and application layers. This combines VMware reported performance metrics with SNMP/WMI metrics.
- Application performance management with synthetic transaction monitoring. AccelOps v1.6 now offers synthetic transaction monitoring (both single and sequence of nested transactions) for probing the response time of applications running on popular protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, LDAP, SSH, SMTP, IMAP, POP, FTP and generic TCP ports.
- Application performance monitoring. Enhancements to support Microsoft DNS, DHCP, IIS and Exchange Servers via WMI, as well as Apache Web Server via mod-status have been added. In addition, monitoring of process start/stop and TCP/UDP port start/stop has been added. This complements the previous application monitoring of JMX based J2EE Application server metrics for JBOSS, Glassfish, etc.
- Data Center hardware monitoring. AccelOps introduces data center monitoring of hardware components including power supply, fan, battery, disk, temperature, voltage and memory supporting leading hardware vendors such as Dell, HP, Cisco, Network Appliance, as well as any hardware running VMware ESX. AccelOps monitors the hardware status via polling and parse traps from the devices – providing dashboards and reporting of trends, as well as generating alerts based on thresholds or more complex rules.
- Storage monitoring. AccelOps v1.6 extends prior capabilities of local storage monitoring to support storage network monitoring capability of hardware status and performance starting with Network Appliance Filers and Cisco MDS switches. This support such items as discovery, disk usage, CPU usage, network I/O, disk I/O, NFS status via SNMP and more.
- Third party management system support. AccelOps v1.6 initiates the integration with 3rd party management applications starting with Nagios. AccelOps can discover and analyze Nagios alerts.
- System monitoring and change management. AccelOps v1.6 extends discovery delta to alert on configuration compliance deviation. The release also adds comprehensive support for IBM AIX and HP-UX.
- Security and Compliance. AccelOps v1.6 adds IPS event analysis for TippingPoint, McAfee and Juniper. The release also extends support for SOX and HIPAA.
- Dashboard usability enhancements. Integrated monitoring dashboard, VM dashboard, application performance dashboard and dashboard customization revisions.
- Topology mapping enhancements. Building upon the prior release, this version extends Layer 2 and Layer 3 dynamic topology mapping to include layer 2 switch-to-switch connections and trunk port VLAN information.
